Professor Bhim Singh, currently an Emeritus Professor and SERB National Science Chair at IIT Delhi, is a renowned expert in power electronics, renewable energy, and electrical engineering. Over his career, he has supervised 129 Ph.D. dissertations, filed 108 patents, and executed over 90 projects. He has authored a textbook on power quality and his research areas span solar and wind energy, electric vehicles, microgrids, power quality improvement, and energy-efficient systems. Prof. Singh has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar – Vigyan Shri by the President of India in 2024, the IIT Roorkee Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2023, and the International Kalpana Chawla Solar Award in 2020. He has also been recognized with the IEEE IAS Outstanding Educator Award and several lifetime achievement awards.He has served in key leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi and Dean of Academics.
